Compagnie Itek, Reims (Francja)

Waiting for Nobel
DESCRIPTION

The performance, whose protagonists are Witold Gombrowicz and his wife Rita, tells about the last years of the writer's life. The performance is based on the memories given to the author by Rita Gombrowicz and the writer's works (mainly selected fragments of "Diary").

“One morning at breakfast, Gombrowicz turned to me and asked if I would like to go with him - to Spain, Italy or some warm place in France. For health reasons, he was looking for a better climate for himself. Then he left the table, sat down in the living room and began to question me: am I punctual? tidy? organised? Do I travel with a lot of luggage? He presented the trip as a way to organize our daily life and meet our mutual needs. I told him that I wanted to stay in France to finish my PhD on Colette. <> I agreed. I really wanted to take a chance. Together with him..."
