The Wedding

Wyspiański wrote a personal play about people close to him. When one pushes away what we know about the Wedding, the layer of stereotypes about it, it becomes psychologically real and alive. The problem is not how to fight the cliché, but how to psychologically justify the issue, how to see what people and the relationships between them are like.
I am not going to translate symbols - what is Chochoł or Rycerz - because the beauty of the Wedding is that it cannot be translated. I also want to discard what we know about character biographies and focus on what is written there. The Wedding is not about Tetmajer or Rydel - I'm not telling the Wedding for them, but for us ”.
