Princess Sharon
Central School of Speech & Drama, Londyn (Wielka Brytania)
In his adaptation, Sadowski made the word only one of the elements of the great mechanism of a conventionalized pattern of behavior. He subordinated the text of the drama to theatrical situations. Hence, in "Princess Sharon" (this is the title of the English adaptation of "Iwona"), it is more important to convey the shape of Gombrowicz's poetics as a whole, to convey the meanings of individual scenes than to purist accuracy of translation. As a result, a hermetic whole was created, composed of models of behavior, reactions and situations blended into a mobile, functional set design. "(M. Szum," Teatr ") The performance with students (now graduates) of London's Central School of Speech & Drama was directed by Katarzyna Deszcz.
