Barfotaupproret
DESCRIPTION

In "Barfotaupproret" the main character is Witold (this time Witold is a girl).

When it is time to collect the school-leaving examination certificate, Witold is surprised to find that he cannot put on his shoes. What happened? Have the shoes shrunk? Or maybe her feet have grown beyond measure? When the family discovers that Witold is barefoot, the situation becomes worse than the girl could have imagined. Without shoes, she will never become an adult, she will remain a little girl forever ... Determined to find a pair of shoes that will fit her feet, Witolda sets out into the world. This is how her "barefoot rebellion" begins.

"Barfotaupproret" - the story of a small, barefoot Witold, who sets off into the world in search of shoes, is a story about being mature and immature, about family and freedom. And a few other things ...

"Barefoot Revolution" is a piece inspired by Witold Gombrowicz's texts, primarily the unfinished "History". The adaptation was made by Emma Broström.

PERFORMANCE TRANSLATED SIMULTANEOUSLY

From Review:

Creating a decadent cabaret about Witold Gombrowicz for children is somewhat ambiguous - and certainly politically incorrect. Perhaps that is why the young Turteatern audience loves this show.

Nummer.se

It is a fanciful, absurdly entertaining and quite specific spectacle. (...) Mia Benson, who brilliantly played the role of Henryk in "The Marriage", with great charisma presents the character of Witold, an oversized child.

Svenska Dagbladet

Total departure - there should be a Mexican wave! (...) The fact that a show for children allows itself such freedom must be inspired by the amazing work of Gombrowicz and the artistic courage with which the director of the theater, Nils Poletti, enlivened this peripheral theater. Turteatern is one of the most interesting scenes in Stockholm today.
