Turteatern, Sztokholm (Szwecja)

Ferdydurke
DESCRIPTION

(...) The performance is distinguished by the (mature-immature) passion for playing Gombrowicz, which is also communicated to the audience from the stage. Keeping the rhythm between farce and seriousness. Now, see your thoughts, they are about to run away and the farce will turn into a fool, and then suddenly the light, music, key of the game changes and suddenly the farce takes on different meanings.

"Ferdydurke" is a novel with a mathematical structure, divided into parts which constitute a closed whole. The production of Turteatern follows the traces of the novel parts. Emma Broström condenses the text into several threads in a scenic adaptation.

The set design of the performance itself is a theatrical sign that reflects the main theme of "Ferdydurke". Everything here is provisional, plastic-artificial, imperfect-scratched, one would like to use the term Gombrowicz, unfinished or immature. (...) Witold is played very well by Nils Poletti. His way of playing, straight from the commedia dell'arte, but with an operating brake, works perfectly in the staging of Gombrowicz's texts. bold and vital, excellent acting, with a great message of the text. Gombrowicz differently, and at the same time in sight. Go to Turteatern and you will see for yourself.

Anna Nagorna, Poloniainfo.se, March 20, 2009

"Turteatern puts all his soul on Gombrowicz, he performs every theatrical performance at the highest speed, because this is probably the best way to gain new enthusiasts of the amazing, infinitely rich work of the Polish writer."

Expressen

“Ferdydurke provides strong emotions. There is no doubt that we are dealing with a theatrical event of extraordinary format. "

Tidningen Kulturen

"We are dealing with an intelligent, intellectual theater which, however, does not lack feeling, because there is even an excess of it."

Svenska dagbladet

"Turteatern shows how much vital force there is in Witold Gombrowicz's texts. The production directed by Erik Holmström is ambitious, full of fantasy and in close symbiosis with the writer's anti-naturalistic aesthetics."
