Teatr Replica, Sztokholm

Sort of Operetta
DESCRIPTION

Replica is a theater group that focuses its activities on the search for a stage language liberated from the total domination of the literary text, and developing the form-creating possibilities of bodily expression in the actors' stage behavior. The first performance, based on the group's verbal and gestural material, Confessions and Gestures from 1993. It was aimed at searching for extremely individual, specific behaviors, which had the content removed. The second project, Świętoszek by Moliera, dealt with the problem of the relationship between the classical text and the physicality of stage behavior. The third project in a row was the performance East of the West and West of the East, played at a power plant in Stockholm in 1995. and shown as a guest artist at the Dramatyczny Theater in Warsaw. The identity of the individual was the center of interest of the show's creators, attempts were made to recognize how to one person the pictorial reminiscences of two worlds, two cultures appear. In early 1997 the Operetta by Gombrowicz and Murzyni by Genet was staged.
