A Premeditated Crime

Judge H. arrives at the manor to settle the legal matters of the K. family. It turns out that the master of the house has died. The atmosphere of nervousness infects the judge. The householders try to impose a form of mourning on him, forcing him to kneel, to glum faces and whispers, and he imposes the form of crime on them. He begins the investigation, torments the household members and the servants with questions and checks the assumption that Ignacy K. was murdered.
