Banquet at countess Kotłubaj´s
DESCRIPTION

It's worth having crazy dreams. Gombrowicz's youthful short story is a perverse and surprising story, with a certain thrill of emotion. It is sometimes read as a voice of opposition to social divisions, a satire about  aristocrats and plebeians, and finally as prof. Jerzy Jarzębski, a deal with snobbery in the Proust style.

Outstanding representatives of the world of theatre, cabaret, music, science and gastronomy participated in such an evening. Not respecting the parity rules, we decided on a completely male cast. Countess Kotłubaj is for Jan Peszek the next stage in his long-term acting and directing adventure with Gombrowicz. The Old Marquise, a scathing aristocrat, rules-loving, seemingly shy, but capable of madness, is a nod to Jacek Fedorowicz, one of the icons of cabaret, satirist, and co-creator of the legendary Bim Bom. Baron Apfelbaum is the acting debut of an outstanding and highly valued linguist, Prof. Jerzy Bralczyk, who always showed great oratorical talent.

Marcin Zdunik, the cello virtuoso, is responsible for tmusic. Only a woman could reign over these male elements, and only the one endowed with such imagination and strong personality as the director Magda Piekorz, whose film "The Welts" was the Polish candidate for the Oscar. The one-time show at the Collegium Nobilium Theatre with the participation of Mateusz Gessler as Filip the cook and Krzysztof Szczepaniak, Szczepan Kajfasz and Krzysztof Godlewski as the Gombrowiczs was so enthusiastically received that we can now show it in Radom.
