THE 16th INTERNATIONAL GOMBROWICZ FESTIVAL HAS STARTED
The ceremonial opening of the 16th International Gombrowicz Festival is behind us. Many guests were present during the inauguration, including: Mrs. Bożena Sawicka, Deputy Director of the Department of National Cultural Institutions, Director of the Culture Department of the Radom City Hall, Mr. Sebastian Równy, theater critics, lovers of theater and Gombrowicz's work and friends of the Festival. The festival is kindly supported by Mrs. Rita Gombrowicz.
On the first day, the Kotłownia stage hosted the premiere of the monodrama "Biesiada u rabiny Kotłubaj" directed by Błażej Peszek and performed by Małgorzata Maślanka, who celebrated her 30th anniversary of artistic work that evening. The audience welcomed the performance very warmly and expressed their gratitude for Małgosia's great work with long applause.
The play "Iwona, Princess of Burgunda" directed by Adam Orzechowski from the Wybrzeże Theater in Gdańsk was presented on the Big Stage. The actors immediately captivated the audience into having fun together, only to later make them complicit in the crime.
The second day began with the debate "Writing is ME! Autobiography as a search for identity. The meeting was led by Michał Pabian, who talked to Justyna Sobolewska and Radosław B. Maciąg.
On the Chamber Stage, we moved to distant "America" thanks to the Polish Theater. H. Konieczki from Bydgoszcz. And "Iwona, princess" appeared on the big stage again, directed by Jarosław Tumidajski from the Powszechny Theater. Jan Kochanowski in Radom, this time in a completely different version.
After the performances, there were talks in the Festival Studio, led by Barbara Marcinik from Polish Radio Trójka. The talks are available on the Facebook profile of the Powszechny Theater in Radom.
The performances are judged by a jury composed of: Agata Grenda, Lena Frankiewicz, Łukasz Maciejewski, Jacek Wakar. We look forward to further unforgettable experiences!
